HYWIND TAMPEN (Norway)

KBCG supports Siemens Gamesa in contract management on Hywind Tampen.

Hywind Tampen is an 88 MW floating wind power project intended to provide electricity for the Snorre and Gullfaks offshore field operations in the Norwegian North Sea. It will be the world’s first floating wind farm to power offshore oil and gas platforms.

It will also be the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm and an essential step in industrializing solutions and reducing costs for future offshore wind power projects.

Hywind Tampen consists of 11 wind turbines supplied by Siemens Gamesa and will be a testbed for further development of floating wind, exploring new and larger turbines, installations methods, simplified moorings, concrete substructures and integration between gas and wind power generation systems.

  • Located approximately 140 km off the Norwegian coast
  • Water depth at the wind farm site ranges between 260 m and 300 m
  • Considerable CO2 emissions reductions, estimated 200,000 tonnes per year
  • Mounted on floating concrete spar substructures with shared anchors
  • Equipped with 11 Siemens Gamesa SG 8.0-167 DD turbines
  • With a 167 m-diameter rotor and 81.5 m-long blades, each turbine of the wind farm will have a swept area of 21,900 m²
  • Due to start-up in the third quarter of 2022

Formosa 2 (Taiwan)

KBCG supports Siemens Gamesa in contract management on Formosa 2. This includes a FIDIC based Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) and a Vessel Contract.

The Formosa 2 offshore wind farm is being developed off the coast of Taiwan. The 376MW wind farm is being built as part of the zonal development program being implemented by the Taiwan Government which is aiming to add 5.5GW of wind power to its energy mix by 2025.

Formosa 2 will feature 47 Siemens SG 8.0-167 DD wind turbines. The turbines have a rotor diameter and blade length of 167m and 81.5m respectively, with a swept area of 21,900m² each.

The turbines have a voltage of 690V and a 50Hz frequency. They provide optimal power for offshore projects and are designed to withstand adverse conditions. Each turbine’s nominal power is 8MW.

The pitch-regulated turbines will have variable speed and will be installed on jacket foundations in a water depth of 55m.

  • Formosa II Offshore Wind Farm (F2) is located between 4km to 10km offshore Zhunan of Miaoli County in Northwestern Taiwan, near Formosa I Offshore Wind Farm.
  • F2 is comprised of 47 wind turbines of 8MW which will be installed in the 68.81km² area.
  • The wind farm with its planned capacity of 376MW aims to generate power for 380,000 households every year.

Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm (phase 2) (Taiwan)

KBCG supports Siemens Gamesa in contract management on Formosa 1. Including a FIDIC based Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) and a BIMCO/charter party-based installation’s Vessel Contract.

Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm is the first utility-scale offshore wind farm in Taiwan. It is located 2-6km offshore Zhunan, Township of Miaoli County in Northwestern Taiwan. Water depth ranges from 15 meters to 30 meters. Total area is 10.27km² with a capacity of 128MW. Formosa 1 was jointly developed by Ørsted, JERA, Macquarie’s Green Investment Group and Swancor Holding.

Nissum Bredning Wind project (Denmark)

KBCG supported Siemens Gamesa in all contractual aspects of this EPC project.

Nissum Bredning consists of four 7MW Siemens turbines, gravity base jacket foundations, a 66kV transmission system and a lightweight turbine tower.

Marti As

KBCG supported a Swiss based engineering company which is being expanded into Norway. The company specializes in the construction industry, and our support consists of establishing a contract management department at the Mati A/S Norwegian headquarters in Oslo.

Odense Letbane P/S

KBCG supported Odense Letbane in the commercial and contract management department. The project is a modern tram project with a total budget of around 450 million euros.
